Walkden Development Breaks Ground

Alderley Group is pleased to share that our Manchester Road, Walkden development is officially underway! This milestone marks the start of construction on a brand-new retirement living scheme, designed to provide 46 high-quality one- and two-bedroom apartments in partnership with Housing 21.

Located in Walkden, Salford, this development is Alderley Group’s first project in Manchester, reflecting our continued growth and expansion. The scheme will feature:

• Comfortable, modern apartments designed for independent living.
• Communal lounge and landscaped gardens to foster community connections.
• EV charging points and cycle storage for sustainable living.

Site Progress So Far:

• Site mobilisation complete – Alderley Partnerships is now in full possession of the site.
• Site strip and clearance underway using 13-ton machines.
• Welfare accommodation delivered for the site team.
• Perimeter secured and Traffic Management Plan in place, including a road closure.
• Preparation for grouting and piling ahead of foundation works.

This is an exciting first step towards delivering much-needed affordable retirement housing in Walkden. As work continues, we look forward to sharing more updates on construction milestones, key progress, and the journey to completion.
