Site Operative / Tele-Handler Driver

We are seeking a Site Operative / Tele-Handler Driver to join our team within Alderley Group and Alderley Partnerships, based in our Regional Office in Birchwood, Warrington. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of our construction projects.
About the Role:
As a Site Operative / Tele-Handler Driver, you will play a crucial role in the practical aspects of our construction projects. Your responsibilities will include operating machinery, assisting with construction tasks, ensuring site safety, and maintaining the efficiency of our operations. This hands-on role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety & Environment:
- Adhere to all health and safety measures and protocols on-site.
- Ensure that sites are kept tidy, well-maintained, and safe for all personnel.
- Maintain site hoarding to ensure it is set up securely, presentable, and safe.
- Ensure that site entrance gates are secure, presentable, and functioning correctly.
- Keep footpaths and roads surrounding the site clean and free of debris.
- Set up and maintain health and safety signage across all areas of the site.
- Ensure that all personnel and visitors sign in and out on the visitor’s register.
General:
- Take responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Manage deliveries, including unloading, storing, and quality/quantity checking supplies.
- Move supplies and materials around the site as required.
- Assist with temporary works, including digging trenches and mixing and laying concrete.
Plant and Machinery:
- Operate machinery such as telehandler forklift trucks, mini diggers, dumpers, and excavators.
- Use equipment including cement mixers, drills, and pumps to move and unload materials.
- Manage and service plant and machinery to ensure they are in good working order.
Leadership:
- Conduct site inductions for new personnel and visitors.
- Lead Toolbox Talks and maintain accurate records of these sessions.
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
Finishing:
- Assist other trades in ensuring properties are finished to the highest standards.
- Perform tasks such as minor decoration, cleaning, and snagging to ensure properties are fit for handover.
- Help with the maintenance of completed sites, including making good and final cleaning.
What You’ll Need:
- Experience: Previous experience in building, construction, or maintenance roles.
- Skills: Ability to read and understand simple construction drawings, follow instructions, and carry out tasks reliably and effectively.
- Certifications: CITB Environmental Health and Safety certification, CSCS Card, and a valid Telehandler License.
- Transport: Own transport to and from sites is essential for this role.
